Never dived before

Your first breath underwater

You do not need a licence, a course, or any experience at all. You need to be able to swim and to feel well. The rest is our job — we walk you through it step by step, and an instructor stays next to you from the first breath to the last.

  1. 1

    We meet at the centre

On the waterfront in Podgora. You get a wetsuit, mask, fins and a tank, and you try everything on dry land until it feels normal.

  2. 2

    A short theory session

How to breathe, how to equalise your ears, how to clear your mask, and the few hand signals we will use. Roughly an hour, in your language, no exam.

  3. 3

    Into the shallow water

We start standing in water shallow enough to put your feet down, practise the same skills for real, and only move on once you are comfortable.

  4. 4

    30–40 minutes of diving

Then you actually dive — along the rocks, in shallow, protected water, one instructor with you the whole time. The whole experience takes about two hours.

Included in the 90 €
  • Instructor with you throughout
  • Full equipment — suit, mask, fins, BCD, regulator
  • Air tank and weights
  • Theory session before the dive
  • Underwater photos of your dive — the instructor brings a camera down

Certified divers

Bring your card. We know where to take you.

The Makarska Riviera drops steeply — walls, overhangs, reefs and a few wrecks, all within a short ride of Podgora. Tell us your level and your last dive, and we pick the site to match the day and the sea.

Guided dive

50 €

One dive with a full 12 L tank and weights, led by a local guide. Bring your own equipment and this is all you pay.

Full equipment rental

+ 30 €

Regulator, BCD, wetsuit, mask, fins and snorkel. Travel light and pick it all up here.

Boat dives

On request

For the sites you cannot reach from shore we go out by boat, together with our partners on the Riviera. Ask us when you book.

What we will ask you

A valid certification card (CMAS, PADI, SSI or equivalent), your logbook if you have it, and when you last dived. If it has been more than a year we start with a refresher — it takes one dive and it makes the whole week better.

CMAS licences — one star at a time

CMAS is the world diving federation, and its star ratings are accepted by diving centres everywhere. We teach all three levels here in Podgora, in small groups, with all study material and equipment included in the price.

CMAS One Star

Your first real licence

450 €

You finish able to dive with a buddy of the same level under the supervision of the centre, to around 20 metres. This is the card that lets you walk into a diving centre anywhere in the world and go diving.

  • Theory, confined-water skills and open-water dives
  • All teaching material and equipment included
  • Usually spread over four to five days

CMAS Two Stars

The independent diver

450 €

Deeper dives, navigation, rescue skills and real responsibility for your buddy. At this level you plan and lead your own dives, to around 30 metres, without a guide holding your hand.

  • Requires a One Star licence and logged dives
  • Navigation, deep dives, buddy rescue
  • All material and equipment included

CMAS Three Stars

Dive leader

650 €

The step into leading. You learn to guide a group, run a dive site, manage problems before they happen, and take responsibility for other divers. The last level before instructor training.

  • Requires a Two Star licence and experience
  • Group leadership and dive planning
  • All material and equipment included

How a course actually runs

1

Theory

Pressure, equipment, safety rules and dive planning. In the briefing room at the centre, in the language you prefer.

2

Shallow water

Every skill is practised where you can stand up: mask clearing, buoyancy, sharing air, controlled ascents.

3

Open water dives

The same skills at real depth on real sites, until they are automatic and you stop thinking about them.

4

Your card

A short assessment, then your CMAS certification — internationally recognised and valid for life.

Boat & snorkelling

Not everyone wants a tank on their back

Half the family dives, the other half wants a swim and a quiet bay. That works here. Snorkelling trips and boat rental are arranged on request, and we work with Yacht-Rent, a charter and boat rental platform, so a dive can slot into a sailing week instead of interrupting it.

  • Snorkelling with mask, snorkel and fins — for anyone who can swim
  • Boat rental arranged on request
  • Dives fitted around a charter itinerary
  • Groups, families and clubs welcome
